Chocolate yummies and all things lovely

Hello lovely people. Yes it’s been a little while since I’ve popped in with some hand made goodies. I do have a valid excuse….. I’ve been busily getting my etsy store up and running with lots of product development and testing going on at the Studio. There are some exciting new lines coming your way so stay tuned.

Today I wanted to quickly pop in and show you some little Easter treat boxes I made for the kids’ teachers. It’s been a little while since I used the colour combo of green, melon mambo and light pink but today I was just in the mood for a bit of those colours.

I don’t actually own any Easter stamps so I resorted to one of my all time faves (unfortunately retired) stamp set called Eat Chocolate. And who doesn’t like chocolate especially at Easter time…

These little cuties were made using the SU Box #2 Die and some lovely new paper coming out in the Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue.

I’ve also been busily cutting away making an Easter Hat for my 4 year old son for his Easter hat parade tomorrow. But what to make that is “boysy” and not too girly? Well I may take a picture of him with his Easter hat on tomorrow and post it when I get a chance.

Thanks for popping by today.

Cute Fabric Covered Button Earrings

Well what else could you possibly make with some yummy SU Designer Fabric,  a self covered button kit and some earring nuts?

Well have a look at these little cuties that I have created.

Making gorgeous fabric buttons from SU Designer fabric is turning out to be one of my favourite past times. There are soooo many possibilities you can do with these little cuties.

For these earrings I used 15mm button kits. To learn how to make self covered buttons please have a look at my previous post here.

Thanks for popping by today and I hoped you enjoyed today’s project.

Exciting New Toys and a sneak peek too….

Well it is Autumn/Winter Mini pre-order time here in Australia (and NZ), so us lucky demos get to have a play with all the wonderful new toys that will be available from the 1st of April. This catty is going to be one of my most favourites. Here is a little card I whipped up for my daughter’s birthday.

I had so much fun making this card and I’m going to have even more fun playing with all the new toys.

Thanks for popping by, make sure you come back soon to see some more sneak peek’s from the new catty.

Sunny Challenge SC30/12

This week over at  Sunny Challenges the ladies have set us another sketch challenge and have asked us to use buttons to embellish our creations.

Now when you tell a girl to use buttons of course she’s going to want to use a bit of felt as well.

I couldn’t help myself and went in search of some co-ordinating felt colours to go with the SAB papers.

I’ve made this card for a special someone who has accomplished a little achievement of their own recently. So what better way to say way to go than with a little bit of felt and buttons.

So pop on over to Sunny Challenges and have a look at this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Popping Pastels

It’s been a while since I’ve played with my Stampin’ Up! Pastels. I forgot how nice an effect it gives to your card making so on this rainy gloomy afternoon I decided that it was time to bring them out for a bit of play time.

I’ve always loved the way that Whisper White Craft ink looks daubed with Pastels so that is the technique I used for this card.

For this card I started with a Kraft (Crumb Cake) base and stamped three of the images from Delicate Doilies using SU Whisper White craft ink. I then grabbed one of my trusty daubers and collected some chalk from the Tempting Turquoise Pastel and dabbed over the stamped image until there was adequate coverage.

To finish off the card I made a lolly flower embellie from Real Red cardstock and decorated it with a tiny real red button. Some tempting turquoise cardstock was used to frame the greeting and give it a bit of extra colour.

I really love the effect the use of Whisper White craft ink has made on the Crumb Cake cardstock and think I will definetly be using this technique again soon.

Easel Birthday Cards with some Crafty Friends

Well yesterday I was lucky enough to meet up with three other lovely talented SU Demos to have a play date. Our friend and fellow demo Chary Belfield recently moved from Sydney to Brisbane so we decided to start having regular crafty play dates but really this was just an excuse to get together and gasbag!

In between all the laughter and carrying on I did manage to finish some birthday cards for March.

Last week I made some cute cork owls and paper buttons and just had to use these to make some easel birthday cards.

I was running a bit late with my March birthday cards so decided to stick to the same design and just replicate the card using various DSP SAB sheets.

I love making little embellies to decorate my paper projects with and I love the way these DSP buttons turned out. To create them I used Buttons Sizzlits die and layered 5 buttons card cutouts and finished it off with a DSP button cutout on top. To help give the button an authentic finish I layered the DSP with some Crystal Effects and let it dry overnight.

The cards fold up nice and neat and fit into a standard envelope when not on display.

Well I’m off to get these into the post. Thanks for popping by today and I hope to see you soon.

Sunny Challenge – Colour Combo

Well my time on the design team over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has sadly come to an end. It’s been great being part of this lovely team of ladies but I am sure I will come back and join in the challenges on a regular basis.

So this week I am going out with a Colour Challenge to inspire you all to participate this week.

And here is my design entry for this week’s challenge.

I love designing Wedding Invitations so as soon as the colours popped into my head I immediately thought to do a Wedding invite.

So now it’s your turn. Use the colour listed above and create either a card, scrapbook page or 3D item and pop on over to Sunny Creations and add your link. It’s that easy.

I hope to see many lovely creations this week.
